Step 1: Contact
Once you are ready to book, you can use my contact page to reach out. I will respond within 48 hours ready to answer any questions you may have. Additionally, I will send my upcoming availability for a headshot session. Dependent upon the season, I typically book anywhere from 3-5 weeks in advance. If you are in a time crunch, I do offer rush and squeeze sessions for an additional fee if there are no available dates in your timeline.
Step 2: Book
Once we decide on a date and package (and all of your questions have been answered), I require a $100 nonrefundable deposit to hold the date. Once that is received, you are locked in and I will send over an email with all of your session details along with some prep materials to get us started. I am here to be as involved (or not involved) as you'd like in your planning process. I offer wardrobe consultation services, as well as career consultation to assist in solidifying and differentiating your looks - all included in your session cost!
Step 3: The Shoot
We've arrived at your session date, woohoo! The process day of is pretty simple - once you arrive at my home studio, we do a quick meet and great with my fur babies (unless your allergic - then its like they never existed!) and then head upstairs. I grab you some coffee, tea, water, seltzer (whichever refreshment you choose) while you get settled and hang up your wardrobe on my studio clothing rack. If you have hair and makeup, we get started on that. If you came hair and makeup ready, we discuss your looks and do some final planning! Then we start photographing your new actors headshots! At the beginning of each look, I take a few test shots and show them to you in real time to ensure you are happy with everything - if you wish to change ANYTHING - and I mean anything (clothes, backdrop, hairstyle) this is the time to change it up. We adjust until you are feeling good, and once you do we have some fun! We pump up the tunes and take about 200-300 photos per look to make sure you have plenty of options to choose from.
Step 4: The Final Photos
After your shoot, I typically ask for 3-5 business days to return your gallery. Your customized gallery consists of all of the photos from your session excluding any shots that include technical difficulties or the blinkies (these are photos that you blink in... I just like this name better). Additionally, I edit a favorite of mine for your immediate access upon the return of your gallery. The next step is for you to sift through the photos and decide which you would like edit dependent upon the number included in your package and if you would like to purchase any additional photos. After you've decided, it is typically another 5-7 business days to have your final edits returned.
Step 5: BOOK JOBS
Now its time to start submitting your new, beautiful actors headshots and start booking jobs! You should be so proud of yourself - getting new headshots can be a stressful event in many ways, but with your own hard work and dedication to your craft, you made it happen. You go!
Your gallery will be available online for a least 6 months, and you will receive a notification prior to its removal in the event you need to download any photos one last time. If you wish to have any additional headshots edited down the line, just reach out and we will make it happen. And of course if you are looking to update your headshots again in the future, I would love to be considered!
