Why are headshots important?

For a lot of reasons! But mainly - they're your first impression. In today's industry, every casting director will require a headshot upon submission. Not all require an actor's resume or a performance reel - but ALL require a headshot. Sounds pretty important right? You want a headshot that looks and feels like the best version of you. A good headshot will always increase your chances of booking a role - so why not invest in yourself as an actor, and reap the benefit of more jobs?

Why come to Portraits by Souza for your new actors headshots?

Real Industry Experience

I have worked as both an actor and headshot photographer in two of the largest entertainment industries in the world - New York and Los Angeles. I know what casting directors are looking for, and also know how it feels to be on the other side of the camera. This helps me a LOT as a headshot photographer given I can both put myself in your shoes, while also knowing what needs to be captured during our session.

Affordable Pricing

Being an actor at any stage of your life can be a challenge - and the financial element is no different. I strive to offer a variety of competitively priced headshot packages allowing all actors an opportunity to upgrade their headshots. I also offer group discounts if several actors book together!

Fully Stocked Galleries

Unlike a lot of headshot photographers, after your session you will receive a gallery with every single photo from your session in high res printing quality. In addition to any photo retouches that come with your package, I also always edit one of my personal favorites for immediate use upon the return of your gallery.

We'll Have Fun.

A Lot of Fun.

I love my job. And I'd like to think that comes through in my work. A headshot session shouldn't be a stressful event - it should be an exciting opportunity to express yourself and have some fun in front of the camera! We always blast some groovy tunes and chat a bit before we get started to make sure you're feeling your absolute best moving into your session.
